Weight loss tips: Small changes

Losing weight can seem like a huge task in front of you. Often, people assume it means living off salad and a growling stomach all day long. That shouldn’t be the case! Obviously, if you’re making a change to your life, it’ll involve some sacrifice and saying goodbye to certain things, but that doesn’t mean you need to suffer.

We usually overlook the small things we do each day which can all add up over time to a big impact in terms of our waist size. Using a few of these ideas, either on their own or matched with other lifestyle changes, can help you shed some pounds – without even really trying! Can’t ask for more than that, right?

Instead of this… Try this… Adds up to this…
One can of Coke Water (or even Diet Coke) 140 calories / drink

980 calories / week

A snack-sized bag of chips Two cups of air-popped popcorn 75 calories
Double double coffee Black coffee 135 calories / coffee

945 calories / week (one coffee a day only)

Mayo on your sandwich Mustard 90 calories
Regular beer Light beer 40 calories / drink
Regular beer Rye and diet 50 calories / drink
Total calories saved 530 calories / day

Keep in mind some of these calculations were based on specific brands and flavors, so they’re approximate values. Additionally, this is just the basic calorie count, with a lot of these changes, you’re also looking at reducing unhealthy fats and sugar. For many people, swapping out regular pop can have a huge impact as they drink more than one a day.

This swap will still satisfy that salt and crunch craving - but in a healthier way.

This swap will still satisfy that salt and crunch craving – but in a healthier way. Also, you get to eat a lot more of the healthier option!

While these calories may seem minimal, over the course of a week or even a month, they’ll add up to BIG savings! If you factor in some of these changes along with healthy meals and regular activity, you’re well on your way to successful weight loss and a healthier lifestyle. Remember, small changes can have a big impact! What little things can you do?
