Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!!

We’ve got a fun weekend planned, which has sparked a date night tonight. Earlier in the year, we trained on Friday nights and we joked that it was our favorite date activity because the gym was usually pretty quiet. Our schedule shifted and Friday became our rest day,  but we still talked about our Friday gym dates. This weekend we’re on the road again, and Saturday has to be our rest day, so we’re dedicating Friday night to us and our favorite things – hitting the gym and then going for sushi and Menchies (of course).

Looking forward to these favorites all week prompted me to bring back a “Friday Favorites” post, so here you go – things you can enjoy, too!

1. PC Blue Menu Caramel Greek Yogurt Smoothie Bars

These ice cream dessert treats are amazing, and taste too good for how little fat and sugar is in them (read: guilt-free!). They have other flavors, but I can only vouch for the caramel. Per bar: 100 cals, 2g fat, 16g carbs, 5g protein

2. Celestial Seasoning’s Holiday Teas

I stumbled across this product through someone’s Instagram post, and started looking them up online. Ebay had boxes for $45 (um, nope.). Ironically enough, I had to go to Bulk Barn, and right across from the cashier was a display of these – for $3.50 a box.  Much more reasonable. I’m still on the hunt for Caramel Apple, though…

3. Cheap (but stylish) boots

I bought these boots from Ardene a few weeks ago, and get compliments on them every time I wear them. I have them in a light brown, but couldn’t find them online anymore. Bonus of cheap, stylish clothing items – if they go out of style, or get ruined after a season, it’s not a big loss.

4. Banana bread

My mom is a terrific cook, but was never really into baking. When she baked, it was memorable (ironically enough, when I visit, we usually end up baking together). My favorite items as a kid were banana bread and lemon loaf. I still love both items, but banana bread still tops my list, likely because I always seem to have rotting bananas at home (that sounds bad). I’ve taken this favorite and “healthified” it by taking out the butter, oil, and sugar. I promise to get the recipe up soon, I wrote this one down, but it’s a little dry…

Hope you managed to avoid any Black Friday madness, or at least got some great deals! Have a wonderful weekend! XO
