Group Ex, legs, and food

Talk about an active weekend! The best part about it? All the food needed to refuel.

Saturday was our big team practice day at the gym. We have new releases coming out this week, so we get together to train and learn them. This means doing a LOT of classes in an afternoon (hello cardio and calorie burn). On top of that, I covered a step class in the morning. I was starving and dehydrated all day. If you do Les Mills classes, check out this round of releases – serious leg burn, especially in step.

Kyle and I had been planning to try this new gourmet burger restaurant in town, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity. We got there…. And sadly there was a 45 min wait for a table. Fail. There’s another burger place nearby which we know and like, we went there and had a terrific “cheat” meal.

Sunday is always leg day, which works well been as cheat meals happen on Saturdays – giving us extra fuel for the toughest workout of the week. Today was no exception:
– 4 sets reverse V squats
– 4 sets box squats
– 4 sets leg press
– 3 sets split squat
– 2 sets walking lunges (40 steps per set)
– 4 sets seated hamstring curl
– 4 sets laying leg curl **with a unique twist that I’ll share soon – it’s amazing!

Looking at that I can see why we keep meaning to split up our leg days…. That’s a lot in one session, even for us.

Sunday was rounded out with a visit to Kyle’s parents so we could do our laundry (yes, we’re that couple right now….but not much longer!) and see our puppies. Now, I should stop procrastinating and learn my choreography for step class tomorrow.

Try that leg workout and see how long it takes to walk normally again! I’m hoping for Wednesday….  😉
